It was so great to find this place. In an area where I have tried to find a good Mexican restaurant granted I had to Drive an hour from my hotel. This place was worth the sunday drive and the beauty of the roads to get here was insurmountable. I ordered the molcate and it was deliciousness. Also had a very good chile relleno. This place is definantly off the beaten path but worth a try. Thank you to all the great reviews before mine. I wish people would get away from all the fast food in small town America and get back to hometown owned resturants like this one so that we could have more gems like this and start enjoying the food we eat again. Go visit this place so that we do not lose another great American establishment.

Discovered this place by accident. What a nice surprise! Good food, reasonably priced. Nice service and quick. I ordered the chili Colorado. One of the nest I've had, I order it at every Mexican restaurant I go to it seems. This was my favorite. I know I'll be back.

Great mexican food a bit off the beaten path but worth it. Had the fajita special and was very good. Good beans and rice, and friendly staff. Would come again.

We decided to come back again. They did not fail to live up to our expectations. Side note: when we walked in the door, a table was calling the manager to their table. I heard the customer say "My wife and I love Mexican food and we've eaten Mexican food all over the country. This is by far, THE BEST Mexican food we've ever eaten" now back to our meal...we've decided that what we like the best about this place is the food is delicious, not bland like most Mexican food. The chef doesn't compromise the overall heat in order to spice the food, like a lot of Mexican restaurants. My enchiladas were bigger than your average. The taco is balanced perfectly with meat, lettuce and cheese. Hubby says he likes his chimichanga better than he did his wet burrito from last time. Of course it's more than we both can eat so we are taking home leftovers which I will promptly eat for my lunch and dinner tomorrow! Again, if you have not been to this restaurant, you must come as soon as possible because us locals know how quickly restaurants come and go in this town!!

My wife and I noticed this restaurant was open when we got back from our last trip out of state. We tried it last night and were pleasantly surprised. The building has been host to many short-lived restaurants and so I had my doubts about this one being any different. The interior was clean but spartan and there was an air of confusion among the help. The menu was varied and they offered a pictorial menu illustrating many of their dishes. I spotted Burrito Mojado, (Wet Burrito) on the menu. I haven't seen that offering since we left California in 2006. I ordered it and it was enough for two. It wasn't the same as the ones in CA, but it was just as good. My wife had a Vegetarian Quesadilla stuffed with cheese, mushrooms and spinach. The salsa served with the tortilla chips was not my favorite, but only because I don't care for cominos in my salsa. My wife loved it. From this small sampling I would bet that Reyes Restaurant serves the most authentic Mexican food that you can find in Heber Springs. We will definitely be back for more. I rated this restaurant four stars, but when they get their act together I'm sure they will deserve five.

Was staying with my family last week at Lindsey's resort and ended up here for dinner. Very charming little place where you can tell that the management really cares. Good food (when I was honestly not expecting anything above average for Mexican food in Arkansas; I'm from Texas). Get the california burrito. :) My parents both did the all-you-can-eat and loved it. The manager even offered us a complimentary dessert after visiting our table. Wish we lived closer so we could be repeat guests! Good job.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
